Job Description

The ICU Registered Nurse in the Float Pool will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care across multiple areas, including the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), and Medical/Surgical units. The nurse will manage a patient load of 6-7 individuals and handle a variety of critical diagnoses.

Shift Details

• Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
• Floating Required: Yes, across all designated units
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Common Patient Diagnoses

• Neurological: Strokes, Altered Mental Status (AMS)
• Infectious Diseases: Sepsis
• Cardiac: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Cardiogenic Shock
• Post-Surgical: Major post-operative care for trauma and cardiovascular interventions

Specialty Equipment

• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Ventriculostomy
• Intracranial Pressure (ICP) Monitoring
• Targeted Temperature Management (TTM)

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Active RN license in New York at the time of application
• NURSYS report and verification of all active RN licenses
