This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional care to patients requiring observation level care. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care in a 16-bed ED Observation Unit.
  • Collaborate with a team of ED RNs and Providers to deliver non-admitted observation level of care.
  • Manage a patient ratio of 1:6 during days, nights, and weekends.
  • Administer emergency medications and manage care for patients with acute conditions such as CVA, drug overdose, and traumatic injuries.
  • Perform advanced clinical skills including arterial line management, intubation, and care of ventilated patients.
  • Utilize Epic charting system for accurate documentation.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting, preferably with community hospital and trauma level I or II experience.
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP.
  • Preferred experience with Epic charting system.
  • Strong skills in managing acute psychosis, hypothermia protocol, and interpretation of arterial blood gases.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations and manage patient care in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
