RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work in 12-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
• Standard ICU patient ratio of 1 RN to 2 patients unless higher or lower acuity requires adjustment
• Must have cardiac critical care experience - required
• Must have ability to care for post open heart surgery patients minimum 1-2 days postop
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (CCRN preferred)
• Minimum 3 weekend shifts per month required
• Participative scheduling with manager's right to move staff to fill schedule gaps
• Block scheduling not guaranteed
• Must float to other units as required including PCU/Medical Surgical
• Work with standard critical care equipment plus Impella heart pump and Hemosphere advance monitoring platform
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Dress code: Navy scrubs required
• Perform procedures including intubations, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Designated critical care staff respond to rapids and code blue calls
• Experience with Impella heart pump and CRRT preferred
• Focus on patient experience including explaining care/medications, treating with courtesy and respect, and timely call light response
