RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
• Required to work 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• 6:1 patient ratio in a 34-bed trauma med/surg unit
• Tech support available on day and night shifts
• Unit secretary coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Contract labor staff floated first, followed by rotation system
• Required to wear navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Provide bedside shift report and compassionate patient care
• Must have active RN license and BLS certification
• Skills required: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Expected to make personal connections with patients and include family members in care planning
