Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for 0700/1900 or 1930/0730
• Every other weekend requirement: Friday and Saturday for night shifts, Saturday and Sunday for day shifts
• Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on 30-bed unit (three 10-bed units)
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract with 80% score requirement
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Minimum 1 year Med-Surg experience required, telemetry experience preferred
• Must be willing to care for both MST/PCU patients
• May be required to precept nursing students
• Floating requirements to Multi Care Unit, Pediatric unit, and West Campus Med-Surg Tele
• Care for stable CPAP or BiPAP patients
• Dress code allows any scrub color except camouflage
• Charting system: Cerner
• Profile review and manager interview required
• Handle surgical patients (hip/knee replacements, bowel resections, hysterectomies), medical patients (MRSA, C-diff infections, COPD, pneumonia), and telemetry patients (chest pain)
• When no nursing assistants available, RN takes 3 patients and provides primary care
• May be subject to standby rotation during low census periods
