Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Holiday requirement for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving (work 2 days and 1 eve or 2 eves and 1 day)
• Night shift preference with first to float designation
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5 with 49-bed capacity unit
• Must take and pass dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract (80% passing score)
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• BSN degree not required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Cerner charting system experience recommended
• Must have experience reading basic telemetry strips and interpreting strips with sign-off required at least once per shift
• Experience with CVA, TIA, and total joint replacement patients preferred
• Floating requirements to East Campus and possibly PCU if qualified
• Care for patients with CHF, respiratory issues, GI conditions, diabetes, post-catheterization, and total joint replacement
• Work with set-rate drips including Diltiazem/Cardizem (no titration required)
• Collaborate with monitor techs, charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse aides
• Equipment usage includes BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments
• Self-scheduling system with manager balancing final schedules for 4-week periods
• 4 shifts cancellation policy per contract (3 shifts if contract under 13 weeks)
