Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM with rare overnight shifts
• Minimum of 4 hours of call following scheduled shifts required
• Weekend call requirements: 12-hour in-house day shift, volunteers first then once per month
• Holiday call requirements: 12-hour in-house day shift, volunteers first then once per month
• Night call shifts may be up to 12 hours, volunteers first then 1-2 times per contract
• Call response time: 30 minutes
• Minimum 2 years OR experience required, prefer 1-2 travel assignments
• Must have broad experience across all surgical cases
• BLS certification required
• Work with 17 operating suites handling approximately 65 cases per day
• Handle diverse surgical cases including pediatric and adult general surgery, DaVinci robotic procedures, neuro-spine and cranial surgeries, pediatric scoliosis, orthopedic total joints and trauma, urology cases, oncology procedures, ENT, GYN including c-sections, and bariatric surgeries
• Scrubbing not required for RNs
• Charge nurse coverage 24/7 with OR techs available
• Use Epic EMR system
• Scheduling based on department needs without block scheduling
• Limited floating requirements, primarily to nearby surgery centers
• Hospital-provided grey scrubs required
• One week orientation including general and unit-specific training
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility

This major medical center features a comprehensive surgical services department with 17 operating suites performing approximately 65 cases daily. The facility specializes in a wide range of surgical procedures including pediatric and adult cases, advanced robotic surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, urology, oncology, and bariatric procedures. The medical center maintains an attached oncology center and provides 24/7 charge nurse coverage with dedicated OR technicians to support surgical teams.
