Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must work holidays and days around holidays as needed
• 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring system
• Work with various cardiac drips including cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, and others
• Handle respiratory equipment including BiPap, CPAP, vapotherm, and high flow oxygen
• Float to ICU for stepdown patients or assist with tasks if no ICU experience
• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, cardiovascular procedures, and cardiac conditions
• Handle fast room turnover with average census of 32-38 patients
• Must live 75+ miles from facility per strict radius rule
• Dress code requirements: Caribbean Blue scrubs, natural hair color, no artificial nails or shellac, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Use MEDITECH 6.1 charting system
• Prefer ability to pull pacer wires with orientation provided if needed

This healthcare facility features a 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit with specialized cardiac and cardiovascular surgery capabilities. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house hospitalist coverage, PICC team, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The cardiac stepdown unit is divided into two sections - one focusing on cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery patients, and another for smaller procedures, drips, and CHF patients. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac care including post-operative management for complex cardiac procedures and advanced cardiac monitoring capabilities.
