Description
Opportunity:
RN - PCU Stepdown
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating shifts will not occur more than weekly
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:4-5, occasionally 5-6 on nights, with PCU level care overflow at 1:3
• Must have PCU experience and ability to read cardiac strips
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose Dopamine
• Care for adults and geriatrics with cardiac catheterizations, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, COVID BiPap, general surgical patients with heart history, pneumonia, sepsis, and acute on chronic conditions
• Floating requirements to all areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load, medical/surgical for full patient assignment, and some ER holds/boarding
• Any color scrubs allowed
• Two 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation on Friday and Saturday of first week
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Work with respiratory equipment including BiPap, trachs, and Airvo
• Read and interpret own telemetry strips
• Charge nurse available on each shift who may take light patient load of 2-3 patients
• Patient care techs available with 1:10 ratio goal
• 50-mile radius rule applies

Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
