Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts at 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM start times with no block scheduling allowed
• Night shift position with every other weekend requirement, may need to work additional weekends
• Required to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Must float to Pediatrics and Postpartum units, including couplet care assignments
• Pediatric ratios of 1:4, NICU ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on patient acuity
• Work in Level 3 NICU with 30 beds and average census of 22 patients
• Care for patients ranging from 22 weeks to term, including high volume sepsis, respiratory cases, preemies, drug withdrawal babies, and syphilis babies
• No neonatal surgeries performed at this facility
• Must be comfortable working with surrogate mothers
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Complete all MyJourney modules prior to arrival
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must have strong IV skills as there is no IV team
• Interpret basic arrhythmias using Phillips monitors with consultation from NNP or MD
• Work with specialized equipment including high frequency vents, Draeger, Nitric Oxide, Nava Ventilation, and Medifusion pumps transitioning to Alaris syringe pumps
• No call responsibilities for travelers
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

A neonatal nurse practitioner remains in-house during night shifts, with neonatologists providing continuous coverage for critical care cases. The facility specializes in caring for very sick infants and maintains high patient volumes with complex medical conditions.
