Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement with minimum of 4 weekend shifts in 4-week period
• First to float to other Sacramento facilities when needed
• Patient ratio typically 1:2, with occasional 1:1 assignments
• Care for medical/surgical ICU patients including non-STEMIs, CVAs, multi-organ failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative complications
• Must be comfortable with comfort care patients who remain in ICU
• Perform bedside procedures including TEEs and bronchs
• Required to read and interpret EKG strips and work with telemetry
• Experience with ventilator management required
• Use Cerner EMR system for documentation
• Self-scheduling system with manager approval and 4-week advance schedules
• Overtime and extra shifts available
• 1-2 day floor orientation with preceptor
• Must pass DYS exam through UNA within 24-48 hours of acceptance
• Two supervisor references required at submission (one within 12 months, one within 3 years)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Scrub color: Navy (undershirts must be navy, white, or black; optional navy scrub jackets)
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

The facility offers 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support, with hospitalists or intensivists available in-house. The ICU features advanced monitoring capabilities including telemetry and ventilator support, and regularly performs bedside procedures. The facility utilizes multidisciplinary rounds during day shifts and maintains a collaborative care environment for complex medical and surgical patients.
