Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Rotating shifts will not occur more than weekly
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:4-5, occasionally 1:5-6 on nights, PCU level care overflow 1:3
• Must have PCU experience and ability to read cardiac strips
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Nipride, Lasix, and low dose Dopamine
• Floating requirements to all areas as helping hands, PCU for full patient load, medical-surgical for full assignment, and some ER holds/boarding
• Any color scrubs allowed
• Two 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation (Friday and Saturday of first week)
• Work with tele/portable monitors and monitors in patient rooms
• Care for adults and geriatrics with cardiac conditions, post-cardiac procedures, respiratory issues, and various medical conditions
• Common patient diagnoses include cardiac caths, EP studies, pacers, ETOH, COVID BiPap, surgical patients with cardiac history, pneumonia, sepsis, and acute on chronic conditions
• Epic charting system preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Profile review and manager interview required
• 50-mile radius rule applies

This healthcare facility operates a 32-bed progressive care unit specializing in telemetry and cardiac care. The facility maintains a Level 2 trauma designation and provides comprehensive acute care services. The unit functions as a cardiac-focused stepdown unit with advanced monitoring capabilities and specialized equipment including BiPap, trachs, and Airvo systems. The facility emphasizes cardiac care excellence with dedicated telemetry monitoring and experienced nursing staff.
