Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 6 weekend shifts (60 hours) per 6-week schedule required
• Modified self-scheduling system with initial placement, then flexibility to self-schedule
• 1:5 nurse to patient ratio for both day and night shifts
• 24-bed medical surgical unit
• 1-3 days orientation with preceptor
• Required certification: BLS
• 1 year of medical surgical or PCU experience required
• Orthopedic experience preferred
• First time travelers accepted
• Float to other medical surgical units and outside sister facilities as needed
• 2-hour notice goal for floating to other facilities, may be asked to float mid-shift when necessary
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Team-oriented environment with bedside shift reporting expected for every patient
• EPIC charting system
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Care for general medical surgical patients including COPD, withdrawals, pancreatitis, direct admits from critical access hospitals, infections, and various surgical patients
• Work with common drips including Heparin and PCAs
• Support from charge nurses who do not take patient assignments unless necessary
• 3 CNAs available with 1:8-12 ratios for patient support
