RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 AM or 6:45 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum 2 full years of PCU/Stepdown experience in large hospital setting required
• At least 1 successful travel assignment required - no first-time travelers
• Must live 75+ miles from facility based on driver's license address
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitoring system
• Work with various cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin
• Handle BiPap, CPAP, vapotherm, and high flow oxygen (no full ventilators)
• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide ratio of 1:10
• May float to ICU for stepdown patients or task in ICU if unable to take ICU-level patients
• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, cardiovascular procedures, CHF, and arrhythmias
• Must be flexible to work holidays and days around holidays as needed
• Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs, natural hair color only, no fake nails, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos
• Use MEDITECH electronic medical record system
• Work in 44-bed unit with fast patient turnover averaging 12-16 admissions/discharges per shift
