Opportunity:

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Must live 75+ miles from facility to qualify
• Minimum 2 full years PCU/Stepdown experience in large hospital setting required
• Must have 1 successful travel assignment - no first-time travelers
• Patient ratio of 1:5 in 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
• Work with various cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin
• Experience with BiPap, CPAP, vapotherm, and high flow oxygen
• May float to ICU for stepdown patients or assist with tasks if ICU experience noted
• 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Care for post-operative cardiac patients including CABG, cardiovascular surgery, chest tubes
• Must be flexible to work holidays and days around holidays as needed
• Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs, natural hair color, no fake nails or shellac, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos
• High patient turnover with 12-16 admissions/discharges per shift on busy days
• Average census 32-38 patients
• Use MEDITECH charting system
