Opportunity:

RN - CVOR

Job Details:

• Work 8-hour shifts with options: 6:45am-3:15pm, 2:45pm-11:15pm, or 10:45pm-7:15am
• 11pm-7am nurse works as the only RN with one tech and must be very experienced and comfortable with this responsibility
• Call requirements: weekday call required 4-8 times per 4-week schedule (self-scheduled)
• Call hours begin at end of shift until 7am the next morning with 30-minute response time
• Two call teams available: heart and regular
• Weekend call requirements vary by shift: 7am-3pm requires one weekend every 6 weeks, 3pm-11pm requires every 4th weekend, 11pm-7am has variable weekend requirements
• Holiday requirements: 1 major and 1 minor holiday in both summer and winter months
• 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio maintained
• No floating required between units
• 2-3 shifts of floor-specific orientation provided
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• 3-5 years of OR experience required with travel experience preferred
• Must have trauma, orthopedic, and general surgery experience
• Scrubbing not required but preferred
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Charting system: Cerner Surginet
• Common case types include orthopedic procedures, gynecology, urology, trauma surgeries, ENT, general surgery, plastics, vascular, neurology, and robotics using Da Vinci system
• CVOR cases include open heart, valves, thoracotomy, and trauma procedures (travelers only required to do CVOR if specifically requested)
• BSN not required

This healthcare facility features a comprehensive surgical department with 12 general operating room suites, 1 dedicated cardiovascular operating room, and 1 hybrid room. The facility averages 14 surgical cases per day and utilizes advanced technology including GE Space Labs telemetry and Da Vinci robotic surgery systems. The organization maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services with OB anesthesia available in-house around the clock. The facility provides a wide range of surgical services including trauma, orthopedic, cardiovascular, and specialty procedures while maintaining high standards for patient care and surgical outcomes.
