Opportunity:

RN - CICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday shifts as needed
• Work in 16-bed Medical Surgical Cardiac ICU with 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios, occasionally 1:1 for high-acuity patients
• Care for young adults through geriatrics with diagnoses including sepsis, STEMI, COVID, stroke, neurosurgery, renal failure, respiratory failure, COPD, cancer, and DKA
• Required to titrate drips including sedation, paralytics, pressors, antihypertensives, heparin, and insulin
• Work with specialized equipment including Gaymar Hypothermia, Arrow Balloon Pump, Camino Neuro monitoring, CRRT, Impella, EVDs, and Lumbar drains
• Read and interpret telemetry strips
• May float mainly to PCU but can go to all hospital areas depending on abilities
• Must pass open book exam on Friday during orientation with 90% or higher score
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must live outside 50-mile radius and cannot be employed with CommonSpirit facilities
• Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Navy blue scrubs required
• 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• EPIC charting system
• Must be ready to ask questions, seek resources, and learn new procedures
• Serve culturally diverse patient population including non-English speaking patients
