RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts on T8 - Trauma, Ortho, Surgical unit with 30 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Must have Level 1 trauma experience and minimum 2 years telemetry experience
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Complete pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Floor-specific orientation includes 2 shifts
• Weekend requirement: 3 shifts in a 4-week period (4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks)
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs and permanent staff rotation
• Float to Observation, VMU, T6, T5, 6N, 5N MedSurg, and other medical-surgical and telemetry units
• Must have own vehicle for travel assignments
• Dress code requirements: Navy scrubs, natural hair color, no facial piercings, men must be clean-shaven for fit test
• Care for post-operative transplant patients (day 1), Whipple procedures, spine surgeries, orthopedic joint procedures, and trauma patients
• Work with Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry equipment
• Support available: SWAT RN IV team, 24/7 respiratory therapy, 24/7 pharmacy
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
