RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement, with potential for additional weekends based on unit needs
• Work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays, other holidays as needed per permanent staff rotation
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
• Must have CERNER experience - required
• Must have experience recovering fresh hearts directly from OR within past 6 months
• ALL MYJOURNEY MODULES must be completed prior to arrival - no exceptions
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS required; CCRN preferred
• Must have general medical and surgical ICU experience in addition to CVICU experience
• Experience with TAVR, Impella, IABP, lumbar drains, Swan-Ganz, and manual hemo preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required - scrub jackets and undershirts must be navy, white, or black
• Work with Draeger, Hamilton G5 & Galileo ventilators; transport vent is LVT
• Floating may occur to other ICUs or ER for inpatient ICU holds
• One shift orientation with preceptor
• High acuity, fast-paced unit requiring flexibility
• Assignments can change anytime during shift
• Handle patients with STEMI, AAA, hypothermia, sepsis, and various cardiovascular and cardiothoracic conditions
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

Facility:

This medical center operates a 10-bed SICU/CVICU unit that provides high-acuity cardiovascular and cardiothoracic intensive care services. The facility maintains 24/7 charge nurses, resource nurses, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The unit features Phillips central monitoring systems and is equipped with advanced cardiac support technology. An intensivist is in-house from 7 AM to 5 PM with on-call coverage after hours, ensuring comprehensive critical care support for complex cardiovascular patients.
