RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 7 on/7 off schedule with every other weekend or 2 weekends per month required
• Rotate holidays with regular staff
• No call or standby requirements
• Nurse to patient ratio typically 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, adjusted down for higher acuity patients
• Work on Med Surg 3 North - 32-bed trauma unit handling post-surgical and medical overflow patients
• Care for trauma patients including GSW, MVA, falls, post-surgical, general medical-surgical, and burn overflow patients
• Must have experience with high acuity patients and be comfortable with lines and chest tubes
• May titrate heparin drips and start amiodarone before patient transfer to cardiac unit
• All patients monitored on telemetry with central monitoring station support
• Float within skillset between all medical-surgical units as needed
• Required certification: BLS (ACLS only required for charge nurses)
• Charting system: Epic
• BSN not required
• Fingerprint requirement with in-person processing available in Jackson or Grenada, MS
• Solid color professional scrubs required
• Unit orientation includes first day paperwork, system logins, and 2 additional shifts with preceptor
