RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with varied start times: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p, 2p-2a, 7p-7a
• Manager creates scheduling based on needs and staff availability with attempt to accommodate block scheduling
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:3-4 based on acuity, may be 1:5 if boarding patients are grouped together
• Treat 50-60 patients per day on average, mostly ESI Level 3, some Level 4, and rarely Level 1
• Care for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics including traumas, CAH transfers, stroke, STEMI, SOB, and abdominal pain
• Manage common drips including vasopressors, heparin, and antiarrhythmics
• Handle critical care drips for ICU holds with 1:1 ratio
• Draw labs from IV starts with phlebotomy available as resource
• Read and interpret telemetry strips with MD verification
• Transport unstable patients to CT when needed
• Rare floating requirements due to census and staffing needs
• 1-2 shifts of ER-specific orientation provided
• Any color scrubs permitted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• North Dakota nursing license required
• EPIC charting system used
• BSN not required
• Previous travel experience preferred but open to first-time travelers

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a Level II trauma center with a 21-bed emergency department including fast track capabilities. The emergency department features vertical flow with chairs for stable patients, a dedicated triage area, one psych room with cameras, and 24/7 in-house security with offices located in the ER. The facility is staffed with emergency physicians 24/7 and maintains comprehensive support services including respiratory therapy, radiology, and CT services located adjacent to the emergency department.
