RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with varied start times: 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p, 2p-2a, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:3-4 based on acuity, possibly 1:5 if boarding patients grouped together
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• BSN not required
• Any color scrubs allowed
• 1-2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Manager interview and profile review required
• RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract)
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
• EPIC charting system
• Treat 50-60 patients per day with mostly ESI Level 3, some Level 4, and rarely Level 1
• Care for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics including traumas, CAH transfers, strokes, STEMI, SOB, abdominal pain
• Manage common drips including vasopressors, heparin, and antiarrhythmics
• Responsible for reading and interpreting telemetry strips with MD verification
• Draw labs off IV starts with phlebotomy available as resource
• Rare floating requirements due to census and staffing needs
• Prefer previous travel experience but open to first-time travelers

This healthcare facility features a comprehensive emergency department with 21 beds including fast track capabilities and vertical flow areas. The facility operates as a Level II trauma center with in-house security 24/7 and maintains one dedicated psychiatric room with camera monitoring. The emergency department is equipped with CT and X-ray services located adjacent to the ER, respiratory therapy available in-house, and staffed with emergency medicine physicians 24/7. The facility utilizes modern technology and maintains high standards for emergency care across all patient populations.
