RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2 with high number of 1:1 assignments
• Must have Level I Trauma experience
• ICU experience required, CVICU experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (CCRN preferred)
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 of orientation for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Float to other ICUs and telemetry units (4:1 ratio on tele), travelers float first
• May be required to float to Westgate campus if needed
• Strong IV skills required (no IV team available)
• Work with high acuity patients including cardiac surgery recovery, IABP, CRRT, lung transplant, ECMO
• Handle bedside procedures including bronchs, Swan-Ganz catheters, epidurals
• Navy scrubs required
• Natural hair color and no facial piercings required
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• 2-day floor-specific orientation
• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry

The facility operates as a Level I Trauma center with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. The unit specializes in complex cardiac procedures and transplant services, with intensivist coverage during days and on-call at night. The facility maintains high standards for nursing competency and sterile technique, requiring rigorous skills validation for all staff.
