RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with one RN scheduled 12:00 PM to 12:30 AM
• Weekend requirements: minimum of 4 weekends per 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required when needed
• No call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• 2-day unit-specific orientation required
• Any color scrubs allowed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• 2 years of emergency experience preferred with well-rounded experience
• BSN not required
• Must maintain 1:4 nurse to patient ratio
• Handle common diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, lacerations, STEMI and stroke stabilization
• Manage procedural sedation and common ER drips including TNK
• Perform triage duties in designated triage room
• Draw labs (RNs usually draw, phlebotomy available for assistance)
• Work with pediatric and adult patients including military patients
• Handle trauma cases (mostly walk-ins) and stabilize critical patients for transport
• Read cardiac strips and monitor patients using SpaceLabs monitors
• Work in 10-bed department with 2 trauma bays treating approximately 35 patients daily
• Utilize EPIC charting system
