RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend or equivalent of 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Work in ICU and ICU-CV Recovery units with 24 beds (capacity up to 32 beds)
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Care for patients with respiratory failure, sepsis, AMI, ARDS, GI bleed, renal failure (CRRT), CABG, TAVR, Impella, vascular surgeries, neuro surgeries, ischemic strokes, and SAH
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• IABP, CRRT, and ICP certifications are preferred but not required
• Must be proficient with Cerner EMR system
• Complete basic EKG interpretation test during orientation
• Unit orientation includes 2 shifts plus orientation to East and West towers for floating purposes
• Must be willing to float to any MedSurg/Tele units (travelers float first)
• Navy blue scrubs required (including jackets and undershirts must be navy, white, or black)
• 30-minute meal break (clock-out) and three 15-minute breaks per shift
• Work with Spacelabs monitoring system with 24/7 monitor techs
• Administer cardiac and vasoactive drips, conscious sedation, and other medications
• Intensivist coverage from 7 AM to 5 PM with on-call after hours
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
