RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirement every other weekend; night shift includes Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• Holiday rotation with regular staff
• Must have EPIC experience - required
• Strong med/surg background required due to variety of patients
• Nurse to patient ratio no more than 5:1
• Unit takes both RNs and LPNs
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
• ACLS and PALS recommended but not required
• BSN not required
• Must submit unexpired copy of driver's license with application
• Floating required - med/surg frequently floats to assist other units
• No call or standby requirements
• No drip titration required
• Work with variety of patients including chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedic, detox, post-op surgical, and pediatric patients
• Unit accepts all patients except laboring mothers and those requiring titrating cardiac or insulin drips
• Dress code allows any scrub color except camo or orange
• 3-5 days unit orientation including tour, policy review, medictech training, pharmacy and lab training
• Manager open to working with scheduling preferences and block scheduling
• Extra shifts may be available

Facility:

This regional medical center operates a 32-bed medical/surgical unit, currently staffing 20 beds, providing comprehensive acute care services. The facility utilizes EPIC charting system and offers a collaborative care environment with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and laboratory support. The medical center emphasizes quality patient care with appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and comprehensive orientation programs for new staff members.
