RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work night shifts with every other weekend requirement
• Position blends charge nurse, clinical mentor, and manager responsibilities
• Must have medical surgical telemetry experience and previous charge nurse experience
• No first-time travelers accepted
• 3-week orientation program: 1 week classroom and 2 weeks unit orientation
• Patient ratios: 1:5 for medical surgical patients, 1:4 for chemo/telemetry patients
• Take patient assignments as needed based on census and staffing levels
• Provide on-shift leadership ensuring safe, high-quality, compassionate patient care
• Round on patients and address service or safety concerns
• Serve as resource for clinical and interpersonal issues
• Float to other medical surgical/telemetry units within facility network
• Must report within 30 minutes if placed on standby for low census
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Navy scrub color required
• Work with Cerner EMR system
• Care for patients including general medical surgical, gynecology, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, spine cases, joint procedures, and oncology patients
• Must have strong central line experience and enjoy teaching patients
• Holiday requirement: 2 major and 1 minor holiday
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
