RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Must have at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience
• 2 years emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: TNCC and ATCN (ENPC not allowed to replace PALS)
• Must maintain 1:4 patient ratio
• Work with Cerner electronic medical record system
• Use Phillips monitors and must be able to read telemetry strips
• Navy scrubs required
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test requirements
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Pass/fail exam required on day 1 of orientation
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion (pass/fail requirement)
• Float between 4 facilities: main campus, Westgate, and 2 free-standing ERs in Litchfield Park & Glendale
• Facilities are approximately 30 minutes apart and can be floated mid-shift
• Must have own vehicle for travel between locations
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Floor-specific orientation of 2-3 shifts
• Handle trauma cases, chest pain center patients, and spinal cord injuries
• Facility sees 88,000 patients per year (250-300 per day) with 30-40 psychiatric holds

This major healthcare system operates a Level 1 trauma center with a comprehensive emergency department featuring 36 acute care beds and 54 subacute beds, plus 6 dedicated trauma bays. The facility maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with pharmacists present in the emergency department for 10 hours daily. The emergency department is supported by multiple physicians and mid-level providers, with anesthesia services available around the clock. The system includes multiple campuses and free-standing emergency departments to serve the greater metropolitan area.
