Job Details:

• Administer ionizing radiation when performing screening and/or diagnostic mammograms according to established protocols
• Demonstrate understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology as they relate to procedures
• Maintain high degree of accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and subsequent evaluation of imaging parameters
• Optimize patient imaging and care while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards
• Integrate technical skills, patient interaction, and care to obtain viable diagnostic information as ordered by physician
• Utilize independent professional judgment and critical thinking to obtain diagnostic information
• Seek direction from MQSA qualified interpreting physician or institutional policies when needed
• Remain sensitive to physical, cultural and emotional needs of patients through good communication and patient care skills
• Participate in quality improvement processes and continually assess professional performance
• Comprehend complexities of appropriate state and federal regulations
• Maintain knowledge of quality control and quality assurance requirements for mammography
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Relevant experience required
• Required certifications: Basic Life Support, Registered Technologist (R) or Registered Technologist (R) (M)
