Opportunity:

Certified Surgical Tech - Certified Surgical Tech

Job Details:

• Work 8-hour evening shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend, call, and holiday coverage required
• Must arrive within 30 minutes of being called in
• Must be certified surgical technician
• Travel experience required
• Orthopedic experience required
• Scrubbing experience required
• DaVinci robotic surgery experience required
• May be asked to precept new staff members
• BLS certification required
• 15 continuing education units (CEUs) required annually
• Completion of Certified Surgical Tech program preferred or current New York State LPN license
• Approved pharmacology course or previous medication experience with successful completion of medications exam
• Knowledge of cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection of surgical equipment and instrumentation required
• Function under direct supervision of RN and assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients
• Perform technical duties as scrub personnel with precise and efficient reaction to all situations
• Create and maintain sterile surgical environment
• Ensure surgical equipment is functioning properly and safely
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures
• Perform routine and delegated duties according to hospital standards and policies
