RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Orthopedics

Job Details:

• Choose between 36-hour or 48-hour work week options
• Work on a 32-bed fast-paced orthopedic unit
• Handle up to 8 patients at any one time with total patient care responsibilities
• Must be willing to accept 8 patient assignments when needed
• Float to other Med/Surg units as required based on surgical schedule
• Previous travel experience required
• Most recent 3 assignments must be acute care Med/Surg in medium to large organizations
• No long-term care nurses accepted
• Care for adult, geriatric, and outpatient populations
• Handle common orthopedic procedures including total joint replacements (knee, hip, ankle, shoulder), fracture repairs, and various spine surgeries
• Administer pain medications, antibiotics, anticoagulants, antiemetics, and steroids
• Work with equipment including ice wraps and polar coolers
• Required skills: IV insertion
• Preferred skills: PICC/Central line management, traction, CPM, epidural/PCA pumps, feeding tubes, wound vac, remote telemetry, telemetry interpretation, CPAP/BiPAP
• Subject to downstaffing 36/48 hours during 13-week contract based on weekly schedule
