RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Adult

Job Details:

• Must have previous travel experience in acute care medical-surgical units within medium to large organizations
• Handle up to 8 patients at one time with a mix of total patient care responsibilities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: Nights 1:6, may go as high as 1:8 when needed
• Must be willing and skilled enough to take 8 patients when required
• Required to float between Med Surg and Orthopedic units
• Work on a 32-bed unit with variety of surgical cases
• Participate in care team rounds to assist with discharge planning
• Conduct bedside shift reports
• Handle common procedures including robotic hysterectomy, robotic prostatectomy, colon resection, mastectomy, thyroidectomy, bariatric surgery, and wound management
• Administer common medications including IV antibiotics, pain control medications, nausea medications, Heparin, and Lovenox
• Work with equipment including Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA, Bard Mini-Infusers, Pyxis, ceiling or EVA lift, and Wound Manager Vac
• Required skills include IV insertion, PICC/Central line management, and vascular device access/care
• Subject to downstaffing 36/48 hours in a 13-week contract based on weekly schedule
• No long-term care nurses accepted
