RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work independently in the Emergency Department under the direction of the nurse manager
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care plans
• Provide direct and indirect patient care based on established standards, protocols, and policies
• Perform initial patient assessments upon arrival and implement triage protocols
• Administer medications and intravenous therapy according to physician orders and protocols
• Monitor and document pain levels using numerical pain scale, reassess effectiveness of pain control
• Identify patients at risk for abuse and initiate appropriate safety plans and mandated reporting
• Collect and document forensic evidence while maintaining chain of evidence per policy
• Complete mandated reports for stabbings, gunshot wounds, burns, and sexual assault
• Recognize and respond to patients at risk for violent behavior, implement non-violent intervention
• Safely administer vasoactive medications and critical drips with proper monitoring
• Perform accurate identification of cardiac arrhythmias and interpret diagnostic results
• Institute and monitor thrombolytic and anticoagulation therapy per protocols
• Manage intubated patients including suctioning, troubleshooting, and weaning
• Interpret arterial blood gases, pulse oximetry, and clinical features of impaired gas exchange
• Complete medication reconciliation documentation and implement VAP bundle components
• Required certifications: Current MA RN license, ACLS upon hire or BLS with ACLS within 60 days, AHA PALS within 6 months
• Preferred certifications: TNCC, ENPC, and CEN
• 3-5 years Emergency Department experience preferred
• Associate's degree in nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred
