RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - Med Surg Adult

Job Details:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions and patient care plans
• Provide patient care based on established standards, protocols, and policies
• Deliver individualized care that respects patient dignity and promotes positive self-regard
• Provide patient and family teaching based on identified learning needs
• Collaborate in discharge planning incorporating necessary support systems and resources
• Appropriately delegate and supervise nursing interventions performed by others
• Prioritize patient care and seek assistance from appropriate resources as needed
• Provide thorough, timely, and accurate documentation of all patient data and interventions
• Give comprehensive reports to healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
• Promote learning for colleagues and participate in professional development programs
• Identify risks to patient safety and opportunities to reduce medical errors
• Safely administer medications and intravenous therapy per physician orders
• Assess patient pain levels using numerical pain scale and reassess effectiveness
• Complete medication reconciliation documentation for attending providers
• Interpret and document patient cardiac rhythms and initiate appropriate treatment plans
• Provide ongoing assessment and teaching to surgical patients and families
• Utilize pain management devices and troubleshoot surgical equipment including traction, feeding pumps, and chest tubes
• Graduate of accredited nursing school required
• Current Massachusetts RN license required
• 1 year Med/Surg experience preferred
• 1 year Telemetry experience preferred
• 1 year Pediatrics experience preferred
• ACLS upon hire or active BLS with ACLS within 60 days required
• PALS preferred
• Must demonstrate mature professional behaviors including tact, empathy, and diplomacy
