RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work either 4x10 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM or 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No call and no weekend requirements
• Maintain 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
• Work with charge nurse on duty and anesthesiology providers on standby
• Care for patients across all age groups: infant, pediatric, hybrid pedi/adults, adolescent, adults, and geriatric
• Handle post-operative care for various procedures including general, vascular, orthopedic, urology, gynecology, ENT, cardiac, plastic, neurology, and dental surgeries
• Administer common medications including fentanyl, dilaudid, and zofran
• Operate equipment such as SCDs, pain pumps, IV pumps, and bair huggers
• Manage vasoactive drip titration for nifedipine and dopamine
• Required skills include IV insertion, PICC/central line management, vascular device access/care, dialysis fistula care/management, A-line management, 12 lead EKG, tele interpretation, sheath removal, cardioversion/defibrillation, procedural sedation, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, epidural/PCA pumps, chemo administration, and wound vac
• Preferred experience with epicardial pacer management
• Subject to potential downstaffing 36/48 hours in a 13-week contract based on weekly schedule

This healthcare organization operates a well-equipped 20-bay PACU unit located conveniently across from the ICU. The facility maintains a Level 3 trauma designation and provides comprehensive post-anesthesia care with modern equipment and technology. The unit features two pyxis systems for medication management and maintains high standards for patient care with dedicated charge nursing leadership and anesthesiology support readily available.
