RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Provide professional nursing care during Post Anesthesia Phase I and Phase II recovery periods
• Care for patients from pediatric through geriatric age ranges
• Perform initial patient assessments and prioritize care based on physical evaluation and operative reports
• Develop and coordinate individualized care plans based on ongoing patient assessment
• Maintain patent airways and optimal oxygen saturation for post-operative patients
• Utilize established pain management modalities to ensure patient comfort
• Monitor patient progress toward PACU discharge guidelines and revise care plans as necessary
• Communicate post-operative reports to receiving nurses and ensure safe patient transportation
• Maintain competency in post-anesthesia nursing through ongoing education and unit competencies
• Required certifications: Current Pennsylvania RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS (all must be renewed per AHA standards)
• Previous PACU and Critical Care experience preferred
• Must demonstrate strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
• Function effectively as team member and liaison between patients and staff
• Maintain professional attitude and demonstrate emotional tolerance when working with patients and families
