Description

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed
• No weekends, no call, and no holidays required
• 2 years of experience required, first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CCRN (preferred), TNCC (preferred)
• Critical care experience and Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Phase I PACU experience required with high acuity inpatient PACU and ICU experience preferred
• Must have experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Skills required include dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience required with post cardiac surgery, lobectomy, chest trauma, Ex-lap and splenectomy, and trauma patients
• Will float within scope to PACU or PreOp units only
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Care for adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric population in Level I trauma center
• Recover patients from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries
• Does not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants
• Night shift personnel must learn to work up preop patients
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility

This is a 1,273-bed Magnet and teaching hospital that serves as a Level I Trauma Center providing comprehensive acute care services. The facility operates a 24/7 PACU with 38 patient bays handling an average daily census of 70-90 patients, with 80% of patients being admitted to the hospital after procedures. The emergency services department is specially designed for immediate care ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening trauma situations, with 24-hour specialty support including heart vascular services, neurosciences, radiology, anesthesiology, and surgery.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
