Opportunity:

RN - SICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 38-bed intensive care unit with patient ratios of 1:2-3 (1:3-4 when floating to step-down)
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Must float within scope to meet facility needs, including to step-down units
• 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: VA or compact license, ACLS, NIH, BLS
• Additional preferred certifications: TNCC, CSC
• Manager prefers RNs with IABP, Impella, CRRT Prismax, and EVD drain skills (CRRT is mandatory plus at least one other skill)
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Charting system: Epic
• Care for specialized trauma patients, cardiovascular surgery patients (TAVRs and CABGs), neurosurgery patients, and complicated surgical cases
• Manage patients with acute ventilator needs, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleeds, trauma cases, open heart recovery, TAVR recovery, and multi-system organ failure
• Skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, CRRT operation, and care of ventilated patients
• Work with specialized equipment including Swan catheters, balloon pumps, Impella devices, CRRT machines, and ventilators
• Complete up to 8 hours of non-billable modules within first week
• Travel pairs not allowed on this unit
• First-time travelers accepted

This 431-bed short-term acute care facility operates as a Level II Trauma Center and has been certified as one of the top 50 cardiovascular surgery centers in the United States. The facility features a mixed MICU/SICU/CVICU with 38 beds and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The unit accommodates bedside procedures such as conscious sedation, in-room EGDs, chest tube insertions, bronchoscopies, and central line placements.
