Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work on acute care surgical and bariatric unit
• Schedule options: 36/36 or 36/48 hours
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Required to float to other units as needed
• 2 years of nursing experience required
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Med Surg/Telemetry experience required
• AHA BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must use Epic charting system
• Care for adult patients
• Skills include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, colostomy care, CVA care, feeding tube management, heparin and insulin administration, isolation precautions, PCA management, PICC line care, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and surgical drain management
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online modules
• 16 hours of non-billable orientation required
• Must live 100 miles from facility
• Flu vaccine required with medical/religious exemptions only
• Drug test must be completed 12-14 calendar days prior to start date
• Fit testing required with facial hair trimmed or removed per CDC guidelines

The organization emphasizes nursing education and requires contract nurses to actively participate in clinical education and mentoring of nursing students.
