Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (3x12 schedule, with 4x12 available upon request)
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Epic charting experience required
• Must work either every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Virginia State or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for single-state from non-compact state)
• Experience with PCU/IMC/stepdown settings required
• Skills needed: cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central/peripheral line care
• Medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration)
• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management
• Use rapid response/code teams and isolation precautions
• Serve adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced, high acuity environment
• May work without CNA support
• Required to float within skillset
• 32 hours of orientation provided
• Must commit to start date with screenshot confirmation
• Compliance documents due Wednesday prior to Monday start

This is a 703-bed acute care teaching hospital serving as the flagship facility of a major healthcare system. The facility is the region's only Level I Trauma Center and holds Magnet designation for nursing excellence. It features advanced specialty care, a dedicated children's hospital, and is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. The PCU unit focuses on pulmonary and GI patients with a daily census of 27 beds, providing high-acuity care without ventilator support.
