Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 3 shifts per week
• No weekends, holidays, or call requirements
• Minimum 2-3 years Level 1 ICU experience required
• Open to candidates with over 1 year ICU/ED experience at Level 1 or 2 facility
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Patient ratio of 1:2 (preop may be 1:3)
• Float within scope to ICU, main PACU, PCU, MS, ER Holding
• 40 hours of orientation provided
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• Must live at least 75 miles from facility
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract
• Care for adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients
• Recovery care for surgical patients including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant
• Critical care skills required including artificial airways, invasive monitoring (ICP), transfusions, and vasoactive drugs
• Experience required with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Night shift must learn preop patient workup
• Scrub color: Navy blue

The facility operates a high-acuity PACU with 38 patient bays running 24/7, handling an average daily census of 70-90 patients. The unit features comprehensive surgical services and critical care capabilities, with 80% of PACU patients requiring hospital admission post-procedure. The facility provides interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams, maintaining state-of-the-art equipment and specialized care protocols for complex post-surgical patients.
