Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 42-bed intensive care unit specializing in open heart surgery
• Maintain 2:1 patient ratios for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend schedule required
• No call responsibilities
• Float within facility/scope of practice as needed
• Minimum 2 years CVICU experience required (prior to travel experience)
• EPIC experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Must have experience with immediate post open heart surgical admission care
• Experience required with Swan Ganz catheters and manual thermodilution syringe to calculate Cardiac Index
• Epicardial/transvenous pacing wire experience required
• Assist with bronchoscopies, intubations, tracheostomies, central line insertions, arterial line and Swan Ganz catheter line insertions
• Care for patients with Advanced Heart Failure, Multi-vessel Disease, Coronary Artery Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, and Valvular Heart Disease
• Handle post-surgical heart transplants and LVAD patients
• Work with specialized equipment including ECMO, IABP, Impella, and ventricular assist devices
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Holiday work required based on assignment period
• Maximum 7-day RTO policy

The facility specializes in advanced cardiac procedures including open heart surgery, heart transplants, and LVAD procedures. The organization provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary services to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
