Description
Opportunity:
RN - NICU
Job Details:
• Rotating shifts with weekend coverage required
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Travel experience required
• Epic charting experience required - no exceptions
• Required certifications: BLS and NRP
• BSN preferred
• VA or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal
• Natural nail policy enforced
• Float within scope if needed
• Care for neonates from edge of viability to discharge preparation
• Provide comprehensive neonatal care including ventilator management, central line care, medication administration, and developmental support
• Work with Level IV NICU patients requiring surgical and medical intervention
• Handle complex procedures including arterial line management, chest tube management, and post-surgical care
• Support families through breastfeeding education and patient/family teaching
• Complete required modules during orientation week on VCU Learning Exchange
• One year break required before eligible to return as traveler if previously employed

This medical center operates a state-of-the-art 40-bed Level IV NICU featuring single-family rooms, making it the largest NICU in Central Virginia. The facility specializes in caring for premature and seriously ill infants requiring complex medical and surgical interventions. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services to ensure optimal patient outcomes and family-centered care.

I am an Adult Cardiac Sonographer and I have been traveling for almost 3 years now and pretty much all the time with ADEX Healthcare staffing. I always look around for all the options as most of travelers do, but end up with this company, because They don’t fail me! Good competitive rates and always attention. Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
