Description
Opportunity:
Registered Nurse - PACU
Job Details:
• Work 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM with rotating start times as needed
• No weekends, no call, and no holidays required
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract period
• 2-3 years Level 1 ICU experience required (PACU preferred)
• Candidates with over 1 year ICU/ED experience at Level 1 or 2 facility will be reviewed
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CCRN and TNCC preferred
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• 40-hour orientation period
• Patient ratios: 1:2 for recovery (may be 1:3 for pre-op)
• Will float within scope to ICU, main PACU, PCU, medical/surgical units, and ER holding
• Care for adults, adolescents, and geriatric patients in Level 1 trauma center
• Recover patients from neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries
• Does not recover open heart surgeries or liver transplants
• Must be experienced with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Skills required: dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, care of ventilated patients
• Night shift personnel must learn pre-operative patient workup
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Maximum 7 days requested time off per 13-week contract
• Navy blue scrubs required

This Level I trauma center is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 1,273 staffed beds providing comprehensive acute care services. The facility features a high-acuity PACU with 38 patient bays operating 24/7, handling an average daily census of 70-90 patients. The unit includes both recovery and pre-operative areas, with 80% of PACU patients requiring hospital admission after procedures. The facility offers 24-hour specialty support services including heart vascular, neurosciences, radiology, anesthesiology, and surgery, and maintains its own patient care technician and transport teams.

Vincent Poast is the guy you want to deal with no matter what is your experience in traveling and profession. He always explains all pros and cons of a contract. I feel like he is on my side compared to other recruiters. The most important part for me that he always answers my calls and texts no matter if it’s a weekend or after hours! Also, if he can’t help me directly, he would get a ADEX staff member who resolves an issue right the way. The whole team has been very helpful for almost 6 contracts now. Oh, and another very important thing for me that Vince never pushes to get into a contract and bothers like a lot of other recruiters that calling and texting day and night. He lets you decide what you really want !
