Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Every other weekend requirement
• BLS certification required
• Must float within scope to Medical Surgical, ICU, and Emergency Department units
• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch to 6-7), Night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch to 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Epic charting system experience is a hard requirement
• 4 hours of orientation provided
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations on a 20-bed unit
• Primary patient diagnoses include cardiac and stroke patients
• Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, peripheral line care/management, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Work with special equipment including hoyer lifts
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy and white
• New York state license required in hand to submit
• No locals accepted within 75-mile radius
• Up to 5 hours of billable modules required pre-start
• No holiday requests for time off allowed

The facility maintains strong interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretaries. The organization utilizes modern technology and equipment to deliver quality patient care and maintains PCT staff to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living.
