Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts with guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3x12s or 48 hours for 4x12s
• Mixed acuity unit combining PCU and MedSurg - must be comfortable with both
• Patient ratios of 1:5
• Every other weekend requirement with 6 weekend shifts per contract
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Required certifications: ACLS and BCLS; NIH stroke scale preferred
• 18 months of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Must obtain Indiana license, compact, or temporary license prior to start
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Previous charge experience preferred with $3.00 hourly charge pay differential available
• Must be comfortable with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post cardiac surgery care, TAVI/TAVR procedures
• Experience required with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management
• Must be able to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Care for patients with CV Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Cardiology, Endocrine, and Oncology diagnoses
• Work with telemetry monitoring in all private rooms with overhead lifts
• Dress code: black bottoms and red top
• Use Cerner charting system

Facility:

This 210-bed short-term acute care hospital features a mixed acuity PCU/MedSurg unit with a daily census of 30 patients in 30 private rooms. The facility specializes in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery procedures including CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS, along with comprehensive cardiology, endocrine, and oncology services. The hospital provides extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
