Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work in a 38-bed medical surgical telemetry unit with a daily census of 35 patients
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule (Saturday/Sunday)
• Patient ratio experience of 5-6 patients required
• 12 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• 2 years of experience in service line required
• Travel experience preferred
• Must be at least 150 miles from facility (may consider candidates 50+ miles on case-by-case basis)
• Charting system experience required (Altera experience preferred but not required)
• Skills include cardiac telemetry, blood product administration, central line care, chest tubes, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, post-cardiac procedures, wound care, and more
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and other services
• Non-billable modules completed during orientation (average 6-8 hours)
• Must complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting offer
• Hard document due date: Thursday 2pm CST prior to start
• Facility conducts drug screen upon arrival including marijuana testing
