Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

• 2 years of recent specialty experience required with full year of in-specialty experience within past 12 months
• Travel experience required
• Previous charge experience required
• 1:4 patient ratios for days, nights, and weekends
• Every third weekend required, 8 weekend shifts in 6-week schedule period
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Must float to all SLHS Metro EDs as needed between departments, units and facilities
• Both Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact required at time of submission
• 3 shifts guaranteed per 13 weeks
• Navy scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, PALS
• Extensive skills required including pediatric care, psychiatric management, IV therapy, respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and orthopedic management
• Must handle general emergency department combined adult/pediatric patients
• Work in STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• 32 emergency department rooms with 143 visits per day
• No on-call responsibilities
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Complete 3 hours pre-start EMR modules and infusion pump/glucometer training prior to start date

This community hospital features 240 staffed beds and a comprehensive 32-room emergency department that serves as both a STEMI and Stroke certified facility. The healthcare organization provides full interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility maintains high standards for emergency care and serves patients of all age groups from pediatrics through geriatrics, handling approximately 143 emergency visits daily.
