RN - ER

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with 1:4 patient ratios across all shifts
• Weekend requirement: Every third weekend or 8 weekend shifts in 6-week schedule period
• Minimum 3 shifts guaranteed per 13-week contract
• 2 years of recent specialty experience required with full year within past 12 months
• Travel experience required, first-timers not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, PALS
• Navy scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Previous charge experience required
• Must be willing to float to all SLHS Metro EDs as needed
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Maximum 7 days request time off allowed
• Must have Kansas and Missouri licenses or compact state license
• Provide care for all age groups: pediatrics through geriatrics
• Handle emergency cases including trauma, cardiac events, psychiatric emergencies
• Perform advanced procedures: IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, chest tube care
• Manage ventilated patients and continuous IV medications
• Conduct triage and cardiac monitoring with EKG interpretation
• Work in STEMI and Stroke certified facility with 32 emergency rooms
• Complete pre-start modules including 3 hours of EMR training
• Infusion pump and glucometer training required before start date

This community hospital operates as a comprehensive healthcare facility with 240 staffed beds and a busy emergency department featuring 32 rooms. The facility maintains STEMI and Stroke certifications, providing specialized cardiac and neurological emergency care. The emergency department serves approximately 143 visits per day, offering combined adult and pediatric emergency services with full interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and interpretation services.
