Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work night shifts 3x12 hours from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend (EOW)
• Patient ratio of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays with no time off between Christmas and New Years
• Maximum 7 days requested time off per contract
• Will float to all medical-surgical floors and potentially rehabilitation unit
• May care for stable open heart surgery patients transferred from ICU (typically day 4-5 post-op)
• Will float to stroke patient floors and peritoneal dialysis units
• 8 hours of orientation required
• 5-6 hours of pre-start modules must be completed
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or ARC only)
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility
• Manager interview required
• No license hits accepted
• Skills required include telemetry monitoring, IV management, wound care, chest tube management, and various specialized procedures

Facility:

This healthcare facility operates a 35-bed medical-surgical unit with 21 rooms serving adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of approximately 30. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams. The unit utilizes advanced technology including virtual nursing systems and treats a variety of conditions including CHF exacerbations, respiratory illnesses, arrhythmias, general surgery cases, orthopedic patients, and end-of-life care.
